Our Dog-Friendly Summer Bucket List
Summertime & the livins’ easy! To us, summer means doing all of your favorite things with your dog by your side. From beaches, parks, mountains, breweries and beyond, we’ve compiled a Massachusetts/New England inspired dog-friendly summer bucket list for you and your furry bestie! There’s 11 weekends between now and Labor Day, let's get explorin’!
AutoCamp
If a beachside airstream with bike paths, lobster rolls and views of Buzzards Bay sounds like something you’d enjoy, look no further than AutoCamp Cape Cod. It’s the perfect place to explore, relax, or do a little bit of both.
Breweries
Breweries and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly! With countless dog-friendly breweries across Massachusetts, you won’t have an issue finding a place to grab a beer and chill with your best furriend. A few of our go-to’s are Nighshift, Tree House, Redemption Rock, and Trillium!
Charles River Esplanade
The Esplanade is the ideal place to spend a summer afternoon. Bring a picnic basket, blanket and some headphones and have yourself a day! Your pup will love lounging on the fresh cut grass while catching a tan!
Getaway House
If you’re craving an escape from the city, Getaway House is a great option. Just two hours outside Boston, these cozy cabins allow you to unplug and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Check out Blake Brook in NH and Machimoodus in CT. We highly recommend it!
Polkadog Bakery
Shameless plug! All good dogs deserve a trip to Polkadog Bakery. We have locations in Lynnfield, Dedham, South End, North End, Seaport, Chestnut Hill, Jamaica Plain, and Hingham, with something for every pup to love! It’ll be like Christmas in June.
Provincetown
P-Town is one of the most dog-friendly places in the country! Take a stroll down Commercial Street and treat your pup to shopping and a lunch or dinner date. After that, you can head over to Cove Town Beach and let them run free. Off-leash beach hours are 6am-9am and 6pm-9pm all summer long.
SoWa Open Market
Located in the heart of the South End in Boston, SoWa is an indoor/outdoor market that’s open on Sundays from 11am-4pm. Shop from over 100 local makers, pick up your produce for the week, listen to live music and grab a bite to eat from one of the rotating food trucks.
The Raw Bar at Island Creek Oyster Farm
If freshly shucked oysters, hot dogs with caviar, ice cold rosé, and good views are a few of your favorite things, the Raw Bar at Island Creek Farm pop-up in Duxbury is a summer must-try.
Wachusett Mountain
If you and your pup enjoy the great outdoors, we suggest a day-trip to Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, MA, where you can hike up to 17 miles, followed by a cold beer a few miles down the road at Wachusett Brewery. Win, win!
Happy Summer!
